Jōdogaura Coast [Okinoshimacho]
A picturesque coastal landscape that resembles "Paradise"
Legend has it that when Zen Priest Ikkyu Osho, known for his quick wit, visited this land, he said it was just like Paradise, and it is from this that this coast was named. This beautiful place was chosen as the design for a stamp commemorating national parks of Japan. As you walk along the walking track you can see the strange sight of northern, southern, and continental plants mixed together.
