Dangyō-no-taki Waterfallls [Okinoshimacho]
A mysterious space and victory prayers
This waterfall, which has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan" and "Top Waters of Japan", is often called 'Meototaki' (Couples Waterfall) due to the fact that it has two waterfalls called O-daki and Me-daki (Male Waterfall and Female Waterfall). It is also called "Urami no Taki" (Back View Waterfall) because you can view O-daki from behind. The water from the waterfall is known as "Winning Water" or "Water of Longevity", and is traditionally used in purification rituals before Bull Sumō and Oki Traditional Sumō tournaments.
